Welcome to the Port of Trois-Rivières,


The Port de Trois-Rivières is a key lever of development for the whole region. Year 2008 turned out to be a period focused on analyzing, reflecting, planning and mobilizing around the port’s future. In May 2008, at the Annual General Meeting, the TRPA made public its modernization plan On Course for 2020. This plan meets a combination of economic, environmental and social objectives. It supports users’ commercial ambitions while reducing the port’s environmental footprint and improving the interface with its urban surroundings. It is now ready for action and is committed to start implementing this ambitious project in 2009.

In terms of traffi c, 2008 was a very good year, with more than 2.6 million metric tons of cargo handled, up 4% from 2007. However, the number of ships dropped from 187 to 164 between 2007 and 2008, reflecting a higher average tonnage per ship. The TRPA’s financial position also improved in 2008. Its operating revenues increased by 3%, from 4.4 to 4.55 million, over the previous year. With a sound fi nancial position, the TRPA can move forward confidently with the implementation of its modernization plan.
