What does TRPA stand for?
Trois-Rivières Port Authority (TRPA) created on May 1, 1999, under the Canada Marine Act.

What is the importance of the port of Trois-Rivières?
The Port welcomes about 250 ships each year in all seasons for an approximate total volume of 3.3 million tonnes of cargo.
It boasts modern terminals for handling a variety of products including grain, alumina, pulp and paper,aluminium, steel, wind towers and cacao beans.
Port of Trois-Rivières is strategically located between Montréal and Québec, on the north shore of the St.Lawrence River. The Port offers an extensive range of facilities and services to marine industries. Because of its strategic location and excellent facilities, the Port plays an important role in national and international shipping activities.

What is the Chart Datum?
The Canadian Hydrographic Chart Datum (CHCD) is the lowest tide that can be expected in a given locality considering gravitational effects alone. Strong or persistent winds and storm surges may sometimes further reduce sea level.

Are there tides in Trois-Rivières?
A maximum tide of 0.31 metres (12 inches) ending at the Laviolette Bridge is observed. Its height increases progressively from 0.31 metres (one foot) in Trois-Rivières to an average of 6 metres (19.5 feet) in Québec City.

They are employed by the Maritime Employers Association (MEA), the members of which include shipping lines and stevedoring companies, or are directly employed by our clients or partners.
